Singapore’s Top 50 Engineering Achievements
Engineering has made possible the transformation of our economy and society over the past 50 years. But which are the engineering achievements that have made the greatest impact to the way we work, live and play?
In 2015, The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) launched Engineering Feats @ IES-SG50, a national competition to seek out and recognise the top 50 engineering achievements across the various fields of engineering deemed to have made the greatest economic, infrastructural or societal impact to Singapore since 1965.
Since then, project owners and engineers from more than 20 industry sectors have submitted their nominations. From 1st of March 2016, IES has put 113 shortlisted entries up for public voting. The 50 projects with the highest number of votes have clinched the title of Top 50 Engineering Feats and were recognised at the IES Golden Jubilee Dinner graced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 1 July 2016!
